Hi all,
A question especially for our French and German members:
Do you have any experience with using E10 (10% bio-ethanol)fuel in your T34? There is some discussion here in the Netherlands, but elsewhere in Europe as well about this type of fuel being agressive to some rubber seals or gaskets
As I am visiting both France and Germany this summer by T34, I am curious if the E10 can be used. Now, I use normal Euro 95 with lead additive. Do you use E10 or maybe 98?
Regards,
Remco

Hi Remco , I only use Super . In Germany you can`t buy "Normal" gasolinesince some years . In the Super gasoline can be up to 5 % bio-ethanol . This does work , but you need modern gasoline rubber-tubes . Keep your eyes open ant the station that you don`t fill in E10 . I don`t use lead aditive all the time - Absolutely no problem . Greatings Jürgen

We've been using E10 here in the Mid West of the USA since the 90's. In fact in my area, you can't even buy straight gasoline anymore. However, I try to buy the highest octane gas I can find, as it seems to work the best. Also the ethanol is hard on rubber hoses, so much so that they need to be changed out every couple of years. The ethanol does knock down some of the mileage the car used to get (about 2 mpgs).

Hello Remco,
In France "Super" is no longer available. There 's unleaded "95" and "98" gasoline . I used "98" with lead additive and it worked fine. My brother has a 66' beetle running for years with "98" only and there's no problem. I never used the E10 till now.
Franck.

Here in finland one local carburettor specialist said that after e5 was indoducet to finland he have almous doubled he's acc-pump rubber part sales and now he is wondering what will the e10 do to the old rubber parts in the fuel system. But fortuanetly 98E5 is still available here in finland and ofcource I also use the led aditive.
