Does anybody have a picture of how the front door seal goes? Or where it attaches? I'm asking, because the seals were gone on mine, and I'd like to replace them. I've looked at all the various door/post pics trying to see how they go. I've also searched the archives on T-34.com too, but all the pics there (most from more than 5 years ago) only show replacing the main door seal or the upper door glass piece, but nothing for the front. I should mention that the seal I'm asking about, is not the upper piece that fits in the channel, but rather the seal for around the hinges area. Thanks for any help you can offer.
P.S. I 've already bought the t-14 style seal. Can this be used for the front? Or will I need something else? Thanks again.

the t14 seal has a flat base as far as I'm aware, so it looks like in this pic that the seal end has been cut in order for it to fit over the weld seam?

Hello Kinsley , Nothing was cut on this seal , it's an original VW T34 one . At the top the seal is a cylinder of rubber and after there's a flat piece of rubber against this cylinder till the end. In fact this seal is molded. The seal is glued on the pillar with the flat rubber part. I don't know if it's clear , it's not easy to translate. Franck.

Yes, Thank you Franck, that really helps a lot. I guess the t-14 seal won't work here after all, due to it's shape/profile. Or it might work with a little reworking. Thank you for the pic though, as that really helps, and gives me a better idea of what that seal should look like. Do you have a pic of the "lock pillar" seal? I see in the parts book there should be one there as well.

Franck, Is that seal the one with a piece of windlace attached to it? Does it also have a flap, that gets glued and has a plate "nailed" and screwed thru it to the body? If so, I think I have some of the remains of this seal.

Hi Bob , If I did a good translation I think you're right. Here's a picture of this seal in the "lock pillar" side. Franck. Attachments:

Thanks Franck. I had seen the 2nd pic before (I believe you posted it in another thread), but hadn't seen the other one before. Yeah, I think I do have some of the remains of both of these seals, although they're no longer useable in their current condition. It looks like I'll be doing some sort of improvised seal for these 2 ends of the door opening. I think I've got an idea of how I'm going to do that. Thanks again for the pics Franck.

It would be certainly easier to make an "home made" seal for the front pillar than for the "lock pillar".

Good Morning Franck, I've read your post, with pictures, which you sent to bobnotch, of the front and rear door seals. I have several questions , as I am trying to replace those also. I have the nos Gray Foam seals seen in the front post picture. I am stumped here. The picture shows this gray seal along with a vinyl covered piping along the side of it. Is this the original set up? also, is there no little rubber strip on the front seals like the ones on the lock pillar seal? last question- are the VINYL PIPINGS available anywhere, or do they have to be handmade? Thanks, Olen Sturgeon olenelo@att.net text#530-339-8327
