The scrapers sold by vintagecarparts.de are expensive and wrong. He has to know this, but I think he's banking on people not wanting to go thru the hassle and expense of sending them back.

Hello Thom ,
I had the same issue with these (expensive) window scrapers coming from Germany . I told the seller about that when I met it at the T34 50th birthday in Germany , no reaction . So I took back the chrom on my original VW window scrapers and fitted them with beetle convertible rubber cutted to the right length.
Franck.

For the Ruby Red 1963 Coupe I simply ordered the Beetle Cabriolet outer window scrapers, marked the old scraper over the new one. Used metal shears to remove the excess. Then bent the end down (at A-pillar end). I marked the 4-5 mounting holes based on the old one as well and drilled holes into the new one. Mounted easily & looks great! US$45 per side for the window scrapers.

$45 a side? Where? The cheapest I've seen so far is $80/side. The local VW shop wants $100/side!
What year scrapers do you use?

Believe they are the late ones, 73-79 which is what I have but I'm going to re anodise the original T34 aluminum molding and use the Beetle rubber scraper on it. When you compare the original T34 molding to the aftermarket Beetle one you'll see how much better finished the ends are on the original.

vintagecarparts.de is very very slow in reactig to claims and mostly ignoring them /// i think your suggested " solution " is the best you can do, if you have a good and usable chrome strip left ...

I bought the scrapers that BobNotch spec'd in his previous post. They won't work - the rubber is still an inch or so too short. These appear to be the exact scrapers that karmannghia.de is selling for €160 a pair, except for the extra $80 they come pre-trimmed - and too short at that.

These appear to be the exact scrapers that karmannghia.de is selling for €160 a pair, except for the extra $80 they come pre-trimmed - and too short at that. They worked for me just fine. I did have to trim the rubber, along with the aluminum trim, but I used my original parts as a template for my cuts. Here's a couple of pics. I probably took a little too much off, as the old seals probably shrunk a little. But I'm not going to worry about it, as the car is completely back together, and waiting for warm weather so it can be driven. ;D In reality, those were the least of my problems. The upper door seal was a bigger issue for me, as it wouldn't work at all.

This is the best I could find. You can get other stuff for T34 that are not on their website- Just email them or call them to see what they have (like pop out rubber seals) www.vwispwest.com/151837475D.html
