Any rough ideas about how many splines to get this back to stock height?

It looks like 2 in the front, and 1 in the rear. The Blue Bentley has the "unloaded" specs to set it to.

I took one side apart tonight, but I couldn't figure out how to match up the measurements in the workshop manual to the Harbor Freight protractor I have, so I raised it one inner and one outer spline. Good thing I went in there, because everything was just slightly more than finger tight. The original setting was 3° from 0, now it's 7°.
I haven't put it on the ground yet.

Thom
On my '68 with the car horizontal on axle stands (taken at the sill/rocker openings) I reset the rear spring plates to 22 degrees from horizontal from the 20 degrees it was at. This is measured as unloaded as in off the bottom stop. From memory each counter rotation (move inner one way and outer the other) of the torsion bar adjusts it by 50 minutes or 5/6th of a degree.
The front is quite difficult without using the Peiseler 261 tool since there are no straight edges to use - if you cannot borrow one you can try to fold up some sheet steel to hook over the lower arm (like an S hook but with right angle corners) so you can use a simple angle protractor. Best of luck and I can confirm that the ride is vastly improved back at the factory settings and replacement bushes.

Without a frame of reference handy, I just winged it. It took a few iterations, but I think it came out OK.
