I think I'll heist the chrome end caps off of it for the stock handle.

I threw mine into the re-chrome pile and they came back looking great. The handle fasteners went into the clear zinc pile, with similar outstanding results. I can't tell you exact costs because it was all bundled together.
That handle might end up having some resale value if kept together.

I have the catalogs from GHE from 1967-1974, but couldn't find it in there. It's probably manufactured earlier than 1967. This company manufactured a lot of the smaller hardware parts like handles, locks, buttons, rubber profiles, etc. for VW, Ford, Opel, NSU, Mercedes, etc. The company still exist and it's in the same business.
