I have a1962 type34 and am missing the rear window defroster cover. Are they the same as a type14 ghia? If so what year? Thanks Happy New Year

The rear defroster vent trim has T14 part #143 255 651. So it's shared with the T14 models. A quick check on KG Parts & Restoration reveals they have not yet reproduced this part. And there are none listed on theSamba classified either.

I need one too. The bummer is, I got one with my '56 T14, but it didn't need it, so I gave it away.

Also: what color should these be? I saw one somewhere (Can't recall where) that was black, which didn't quite look right.
Silver beige? Chrome? (I think that chrome would be awesome!)

Looking through the original unrestored T34 photo archives the early (1962-65) T34s used Silver-Beige paint for the rear shelf vent on Silver-Beige, Ice Blue, & Aero Brown vinyls. It was painted Black with Black vinyl. The 1966 Pigalle was red, therefore the Teak would be brown. The late (1967-69) T34s used Black paint for the vent on the Red & Black vinyls but Beige paint on the Tan & lighter colored vinyls.
