Hi all, My type 34 is up for a new MOT coming July. The last time the MOT was allowed, with the remark that the head light mirrors need to be replaced or re-chromed. Is it easy to take the headlights apart, are there any issues I must keep in mind? Unlike most here, I am quite good at breaking things but a lot less good in fixing things.. so I need to know what to keep in mind before taking stuff apart.. Regards, Remco

Thanks Lee, Carsten,
I already have replacement reflectors, I was just wondering (before I break anything that cannot be repaired) how to take the head light assemblies apart. Looks like your guide on how to restore yourself gives a nice description of the steps.
Regards,
Remco

The toughest part of the disassembly process is keeping the thin metal clip pieces from flying away once removed from the space between the inner lens & frame! Keep one hand over the clips when removing and it'll avoid searching for them in the garage. Also, when reassembling the lenses, be sure to get the glass vertical lines straight or you will be reassembling them twice.
