I'm slowly working on some minor authenticity projects on my 1964, and will probably be posting a few of these as I get to each, so thanks to all in advance for sharing your knowledge.
I've been looking for an anti-kink spring for a while on Samaba - reference the picture. Since I've haven't been able to find one, I thought of making one out of Galvanized Utility Wire. I'm thinking of using 16 Gauge (0.05"), and in looking at the photo, it seems to be about 27 loops.
If anyone out there has an original, I'd sure appreciate the if you could count the number of wraps, and best guess on the diameter of the spring's wire.
