I'm restoring a '65 343 and have decided to go with a black interior, for several reasons not least of which is I already have black door cards and rear cards. As I understand it black was only available with all vinyl seats, there was no cloth option. I also believe the centre sections had the same grain or pattern as the lighter seat options? If I'm correct does anyone know where I could get the Aero vinyl patterned centre sections for my seats? If not does anyone have some sections of this material? Any colour would do as I can 'vinylcote' it black. Failing both the above, what is the closest pattern I can get and where from? Thanks.

The 1965 T34s had the special & unique Aero center seat material. It was only used in 1965 T34s & T14s. But this material always decomposes with age & sun. There is no known reproduction of this material. And finding an original set to redye is next to impossible. Many 1965 owners are searching for this material with no good results. The centers of the front seats & the entire back seat was covered with this material. Here's the 1965 color chart that shows the Aero Black vinyl & cloth options for each body color:

Thanks for the reply Lee. It looks like I'll have to find a patterned vinyl thats similar. I see from the chart you included that Aero black was an option on the Sea Blue cars? Thats good as its my first choice colour but I do want to stick with a genuine body/roof/interior option.

When you find a similar pattern to the Aero vinyl, please let me know. That's information that would be great to share with all 1965 owners! And yes, the Sea Blue 1965s had black as their second interior option & Parchment as their first option.
