Here's the current list of the American T34 owners are planning to fly into Germany to participate in the events in mid-August: Confirmed: - Lee Hedges (confirmed, Southern California) driving Jorg Fischer's 1963 Sunroof with Dag Henriksen from Norway - Tom & Terri Reay (confirmed, Central California) driving Kris De Bruijn's 1967 Coupe - Jim Maljanian (Southern California) driving Lars Neuffer's 1968 Automatic
Unconfirmed: - Allyn de Vars (Connecticut)

Hello from Germany,
if you need any help, please feel free to e-mail me. I can help organizing your trip within Germany (or Europe) as I did back in 2005 for several foreign guests.
Sometimes it is easier to make a quick phone call from over here in German language instead of e-mailing back and forth (and maybe misunderstanding).
Travelling within Germany (Europe) is comparably easy using our good passenger train system. Renting a car is also possible.
You will have to choose an airport to fly in (years ago it was a lot cheaper going through an airport outside Germany, like Amsterdam/Netherlands, depending what airline you choose). From there you can fly to (usually) Frankfurt, but also can travel by train to any German city you like.
So let me know where help is needed.
Best regards
Jörg

Would be really nice to meet you all (again) over here in August!
I can assist in finding trains (or planes) to Georgsmarienhütte once you are (somewhere) over here in Europe.
Regards
Jörg

Can't wait to see everyone too!
Update on flights from California - it looks like the least expensive way to go is on Air Berlin from LAX or SFO to Düsseldorf. $1220. Non-stop. Flying on Mondays helps as well.
Air Berlin's main hub is DUS, so it's probably the best price from other airports in the US. Plus Düsseldorf may be the closest commercial airport to GMH.
I was way off on the Swiss Air flights, $800 was one way!

closest airport is münster-osnabrück, but no possibilities to fly in directly from overseas! frankfurt of course is the most common for overseas flights ... may be a one stop over flight via great britain or ireland makes it cheaper or amsterdam / brussels when i fly overseas, flights from amsterdam, brussels or flights via great britain are often the cheapest ...

Unfortunately I'm not going to be able to go due to conflicting family and business commitments in August. Instead I'm going to help organize a Type 3 50th anniversary event here in California in September. Scott

Just booked our flight today. Was able to use Delta Sky Miles awards points for one ticket but the other was $1900. Flying into Venice Italy for the week prior to Germany, arriving into Germany on the 10th & departing Frankfurt on 16th.
