I used a beetle convertible seal and cut part of it to fit in the channel of my 1965. The curve of the seal was just perfect. The seal I received from vintagecarparts.de was big and did not work for my car. Here are some photos of the seal and how I cut it. This is my first try. NOTE: I cut in the middle of the curve but it doesn't go all the way to the chrome trim, so it may need to be cut a little longer to seal all the way up, and cut with a knife to seal properly at the top. Cuts at the middle of the curve and 6 cm from the end, then cut in half lengthwise to get the proper shape.

I used the wider half of the seal- the inside half, I believe. I had to cut about 4 mm from the edge to get it to set in the channel. Then some weatherstrip adhesive on the seal and channel, when tacky, used clips to hold them in place until set. It's not perfect, but it looks like it will work. I have to figure out how to finish it at the top...

It looks close to the proper seal- Photo from Lee. And beats the seal I got from Germany.
