Since my Ghia's birth certificate confirmed the interior to be Silver Beige, I was wondering about the availability of correct door panels. West Coast Classic Restoration shows a T34 Ghia interior on their website but I didn't know if Lenny and crew made new door panels or if they were originals. According to the '64 upholstery guide mine should have silver beige on top and derby grey on the bottom. Currently I have black panels so it's not like I could dye them very easily either. Another question, does anyone have a good source for suitable board for the back of the front seats? I need to replace the one on my driver seat and didn't know if that was pretty much an upholstery shop item or if I could get it easily somewhere else. Thanks.

All-black seats and interior panels were optional in 1964. Your panels could very well be original.

The birth certificate says Silver upholstery though.

Original T34 interior panels are very scarce. The best option for you is to make your own. West Coast Classics doesn't use heat-seamed vinyl but rathe chooses to sew the lines horizontally. SewFine does the same thing. It's not difficult to make your own panels look original, just takes time & planning. I've been planning to make original sets for years but just don't have the time now that T34 World has been born. If you want tips just email me. Costs about $400 for the supplies to do one T34.
You can use the same boards to make the backs of the front seat panels as well.

So are you saying you have a method to reproduce the heat seams?

Yes, the only method that I'm aware of is to buy the long interior drivers side panel from a Transporter from a TMI upholstery dealer. This panel has the same heat-seamed line widths as the T34 and it's large enough for the long T34 door panel requirements. It comes in a light-beige color which is close to Silver-Beige. You can also buy non-heat-seamed lengths of the same vinyl for seats so your interior colors will match. Then you can buy a vinyl color matching closest to the color/grain pattern of the lower door panel color. Jacin Ferreira's 1963 M343 is monotone Silver-Beige, Andy Holmes 1962 M343 is Silver-Beige & Brick Red, as is my 1962 Cabrio replica. All were done with this method.

Where all the heat seams always the same? The original panels I have for my '63 are different to all the pics of any interiors I can find..
The door panels have 4 lines and the rear panels have 3 lines. They are all much lower and spaced closer together than those pictured here as well...

Yes, that set is the late-model style with 4-lines.

Can anyone advise me where I can find, or what alternatives I can use for the door rubber seal insert at the top left hand side of the picture above?
Also the molded black plastic piece that sits below the seal top left with the rib {does this act as drainage?} These are no longer on my doors.

The lower door panel was available in cloth for the 1962-63 years (but not in black). In mid-1964 the T34s began using vinyl instead. The T3 "salt & pepper" fabric is different than the T34 cloth fabric.
