Just been reading Brads questions on interior panels, and noticed the pics put up show the seat recliner knobs are located towards the top of the seat, in the seat "spear" trim.
Do any of you know what years these were used in? Are there any other differences in the seats through out the years? Knob styles etc etc...
Thanks

Just checked the "Annual Refinements" section of the Resources tab. Those release knobs were used in early '62. '62 RefinementsLate '62 the release knob was moved to the bottom of the seat.

I'm planning to publish an article on exactly that topic, Tris! Brad: full points for pointing the way to the web site Resources section! Early-1962 = knob located in upper portion of seatback (thru #0 054 087) Late-1962-1965 = knob located in lower portion of seatback frame (from #0 054 088 to #345 500 000) 1966 = no knob & no locking mechanism 1967-69 = door hinge cable system for auto-unlock/lock feature The ivory knobs for the cigar lighter (1962-66) are the same ones used for the side seatback knobs. Thanks to Steve Thirkettle's 1969 I just received a nice set of photos of the late-model seat locking system for the article. Tris: check your seat frames first. If they are the late-1962 style then there will be a threaded metal piece at the base of the seatback (outboard side) where the ivory knob mounts.
