Hi all,
I'm having my seats 'restored'. I took the passenger seat out of the car to see how it can be disassembled the easiest, I would like to have the frame resprayed as well.
It seems as if the covers/cushions cannot be taken from the frames that easily, I was expecting nuts bolts or something, but the covers look as if these are clamped to the frames so to say.
How can I take these apart the easiest? Just so I don't break anything that cannot be mended...
Regards,
Remco

You can sand & paint the seat frames without needing to remove the seat upholstery, I've done it and it's fine. But if you're going to reupholster the seats anyway then you'll need to: - unscrew the two large bolts where the top & bottom pieces are joined together
- remove the front seat adjuster knob (knock pin out)
- remove side plastic panels
- pry-up the seat upholstery arrows that clamp the upholstery to the frame

Thanks for the tips, Lee. I just took the first seat apart. It looks as if someone added a provision for headrests, looking at the welds I don't think this is factory-made. Remco Attachments:
