I recently acquired a radio faceplate from a registry member. According to the article in T34 World News 2011 Issue #4, all T34s had Blaupunkt Frankfurt radios. Do they have flat sides to the control shafts? As you can see the holes in my faceplate are not round. The pics in the article show round holes and all the shafts I can see are round. Why are my holes flat on the side? My car currently has an incorrect Sapphire III in it. I would use that radio until I can find (and afford) a correct '64 Frankfurt, but the shafts are round and I cannot fit the plate on. I hate to cut the holes out round unless I absolutely have to for originality sake and fear of damaging the faceplate. Thanks for any input! Attachments:

Hi Brad,
I have both a Frankfurt radio and this faceplate. It has the similar shaped holes and it fits perfectly on the radio.

Well, it's not a Frankfurt (and as far as I know it doesn't work) but it looks pretty. This is a Bremen model. The problem with the Sapphire was the shafts were to big in diameter. The faceplate fits perfectly with this Blaupunkt. Had to put it in the dash to see how it looked! Of course now I need to get some domed knobs for it.
