Hey fellas..... I have a problem.... The over zealous PO hit the engine lid script with his electric buffer..... I'm in need of a good replacement....
Anyone got one?
Must be in good nick.... Not NOS, but tidy....
Cheers....

These are standard KG decklid scripts. Very easy to find anywhere that offers vintage VW parts, ebay, theSamba, etc. The used ones always seem to be missing the front-end tail of the G in Ghia, so be careful when buying a used/original one.
I believe I bought a new repro one for $25 recently from Bill & Steve's.

Can't get them here.... Any KG (TI & TIII) is a rare thing in this part of the globe... I think there are less than a dozen in the whole state!.... So finding parts locally is out.... I heard that the repop ones are smaller than the OG ones, so was a little unsure about buying without seeing it.... But if you say that the repop ones are pukka, I'll drop Bill & Steve's a msg and have a gander on ebay too...
Cheers again Lee....

There are three size KG scripts (that I'm aware of): - large version fitted to early T14 KGs on decklid (1955-61)
- smaller version fitted to T34s & T14s (1962-74)
- tiny version fitted to T34 & T14 dash panel above radio (1967-74)
I've never heard of the regular KG decklid script being too small for the T34 decklid. I can help source one for you if you're unable to. I'd start with KG Parts & Restoration or Bill & Steve's VW Parts first.

I just got one off ISP West.... Needed a few things that they had, and noticed they also stocked the script.... The price was ok, so I grabbed one.... If it's no good, I'll let you know.... Once again.... Thanks for the offer of help Lee.
