Hello All, I have a question. For the 1962 year was there a door cap as pictured? From the previous owner, he said there wasn't but I just want to make sure, as well was there a seal?. Also, does any have or could anybody take pictures of the piping of a 1962 interior....specifically I am looking for front door jam. The enclosed piping was suppose to fit in the front part of the door...between the carpet and the seal. I would like to see how they fit together. Thanks. George

The 1962-63 models had painted upper door wells. The plastic caps were added in 1964 and used throughout 1969 production. There was a rubber seal that hugs the upper portion of the door well that seals it when contacting the body to keep water out & reduce wind noise. This seal is unavailable now but we're working on a repro in Thailand. The A-pillar seals are also not available. Here's a pic from an early 1962. Check the parts list book for the order of assembly. There's a long metal plate that holds these seals into place.
