Hello all, Just bought a '63 T34 (after having wanted one for the past 20 years or so) from Lee....... Unfortunately I have to put it away for the winter, but I did get to drive it a bit. Am very pleasantly surprised how well these cars drive on the road - this is the first one I've ever driven - in fact, it is the first one I've ever even sat in! Anyway, just wanted to say hello. I'm up in the mountains just outside Scranton, PA - anyone in this area? tks, Ray Mead

Hello Brad, Re posting pictures - I'm still trying to figure out how to work this site, and haven't figured out pictures yet. Re York - know it well - lived there for about 10 years, in Springdale - left there about 7 years ago. My brother-in-law still lives there, he was a Police Captain till he retired - his name is Mike Perelman. Hopefully you will get this! Ray

Wow. I've lived in York County all my life. The last 14 here in York. I'm a member of the Southern Pennsylvania Volkswagen Club (SPVWC) and we have put on a show at York VW for the last 8 years. Before that we did shows at Autohaus Lancaster. Have you been into VWs prior to this Type34?

Here are the photos I took just before it left San Diego for Pennsylvania in October 2011. It's a very nice original driver with a fully-documented history. Jimmy Braxmeyer repainted it Ruby Red and it has its original Black roof. Silver-Beige interior was done in San Diego by Jose. Wide whitewall tires (fitted by Jacin) are BF Goodrich Silvertown radials.

Hello Brad (and thanks Lee for posting the pictures!), Re York again - went thru there yesterday on my way down to Reistertown, MD - bought an XK150 fixed head coupe and went down yesterday to get it.... everytime I go to York I can't believe how much home construction is going on, especially south of the city. Anyway, re VWs - yea, sort of had a serious interest in VW type things for sometime now - had a Thing that I really liked; had a Beetle; and have had a number of VW powered replicas - MG-TD, a number of Porsche replicas (in fact, I have an Intermeccanica now). Would love to see your Ghia - maybe I can let you know next time I make it to York.... ? ray (am trying a photo - lets see if it works this time).

Are any of you planning to be a the Deutsche Classic in Fleetwood, PA next month? I'd be up for making the trip with my 65 343, it would be great to get an east-coast gathering of Type 34's together.

I will definitely be at Deutsche Classic and will have my Ghia there if at all possible. Our club helps do the judging. I highly recommend attending. This show is a really fun one. You never know what unusual/rare German car is going to appear! I know the guy that heads it up and he is a class act. He has the awards hand crafted each year using wood and auto components. They are true works of art. This one from a few years ago was for Best of Show. The horn button was wired to fire the semaphore turn signal!
