SAVE THE DATE: Thursday September 29th through October 2, 2011 Hello, we are putting together a birthday party for the Type 3 and especially the Type 34. Initial planning is going on now, but the location will be the beach town of Cayucos California. If you have never been there here is some good information; www.cayucoschamber.com/The only thing for sure right now is the dates and a real preliminary schedule of events. I'm thinking it could go something like this: Thursday afternoon, September 29th, get together for a birthday party in San Luis Obispo Friday cruse North County San Luis Obispo wine country, end up back in Cayucos. Saturday, cruise up Highway One towards Ragged Point (at least). Then back for a "show" in Caycous Sunday, breakfast and head home. The roads and scenery that are available here are amazing. Late September, early October is the best weather in this area. Not as much fog at the coast, and the temperature is more moderate over the grade in North County. Also, it's more off season than the summer, so it is easier to get places to stay. So there it is, September 29 through October 2nd in SLO County!

Hi Carsten I just saw the deadline was March 31st - It is still march 31st here in California, I hope that's still O K I sent 3 off. I didn't include this one - but this is about 6KM from my home I wasn't sure if the focus was good enough.

Hello T34-Folks !
I think it´s a very good idea to make a birth-"year"-party for the Type 3 + 34 in USA also ! Shure, not everybody from overseas, who want´s to come to GMH, cane make it. And for all those it´s a very good alternative .
Wish all of you an exciting Celabration-Year of our favorite VW ! ;D
Many greatings from Germany !
Ingmar
PS: Tom; you have nice places to get your T34 in scene. I´m glad, maybe, to have one of your photos in my 2012th calendar

The event was a huge success! There were nowhere near as many cars as GMH, but it was still allot of fun. The weather was perfect. All week they had predicted clouds and even a chance of thundershowers, but we only had a little fog Friday morning. Here are some pictures - farm7.static.flickr.com/6235/6210251174_dda054926b_b.jpg but I'm sure Lee will have some more. It was just a really nice time. Tom

Hi Carsten, opps. It is a nice car, even if the brakes are a little iffy (I was leading the drive and came to a stop sign a little to quick, Bob Walton was behind me and had to lock it up!) Here are some more pictures; www.flickr.com/photos/reayman/sets/72157627813894424/show/I was using 2 cameras, so they are a little out of order, but you'll get the idea.
