Should the spare wheel well sit on a seal before being screwed in? Also looks like the petrol tank sat on some form of rubber but it has pretty much disintegrated, should there be something here?

Hello Graham,
Yes you're right there's a seal under the spear wheel well and under the petrol tank.
If I still have the spear wheel well seal , I'll try to make a picture.

Here's what I used for my 1962 fuel tank resto: www.leehedges.com/t34/puret34/stepbystep/fueltank.pdfIt's a 5mm thick foam roll that is about 4-5cm wide. Adhesive on one side you peel-off the paper then stick down. The spare tire well does have a seal but it's obsolete and we have no replacement known. It's a triangular-shaped foam seal with a harder outside shell.
