Hi, my name is Bill and my wife is Carol. We have been into VW's for many years. My first car was a 1959 bug in 1966. We have restored just about every VW model except a Type 34. If I haven't miscounted, this 1965 Type 34 is my 55th VW. We started looking for one about two years ago. Found one in Georgia, but we thought it was a little too rusty. Sure wish I had bought it now, because it was complete and had many spare parts included. We ended up buying a rusty, but complete 1964 from South Alabama. Then we found a solid project car in Texas. That car allmost did us in. We towed it back on a tow dolly, and the car blew two rotten tires on the way home. The owner's father told us the tires were good. We also found when we got home that the body was not attached to the pan. We have bought parts from Simon in England, and Karmann Ghia.de of Germany. We still need to find headlight assemblies and front turn signal housings,as ours are in bad shape. We hope to have the 1965 restored and drivable sometime in 2012. We have been slowed by illness and trying to move to a 90 year old house. I never knew so many things could go wrong with an old house. We will try to post pictures soon. Thanks,Bill and Carol
