I'm now modifying the original post because I am now pretty sure the problem is the headlamp relay (hand dimmer relay on he wiring diagram). But where do i get a spare?
The unit is a 12v 6 pin relay SWF R200.867. any ideas or workarounds appreciated
BW

You might try looking for a 211 941 583. It's for a 67 bus with 12 volt. I'm not much help here, as I have 4 of the later T-3 units that are 4 terminal part # 311 941 583A. These can be used as well, but you have to alter the wiring.

I have this part also, just trying to figure out how to make it work.... The wizardry that is electricary is way beyond me! Other than the terminal J and 30, they are the same. Those 2 terminals are for the inside dome light power (J from the fuse box), as the 30 goes from the relay to feed the light itself. You could try it, with out those 2 wires connected to he relay. I only say that, because all of the diagrams I've looked at show a jumper wire from terminal 30 to terminal J. Some don't even have anything off of #30, while J goes to the fuse box, as hot at all times (basically #30). That what #30 means in our cars, battery voltage, or hot all the time. I hope this helps. What you need is; 56a= yellow wire to fuse box (low beam) 3rd or 4th fuse tab, F=white wire to fuse box (high beam) 5th or 6th fuse tab, 56=power from light switch, and S= dimmer switch (on turn signal stalk) it provides the ground to do the switching. Those are the ones you need for the lights. I hope this helps.
