If you recieved the December Hot VW's magazine you may have noticed in the FYI section, page 34 that the Classic may be losing it's site. If you have always wanted to go, but have put it off, maybe this should be the year! What if it's the last year of the show? No likely, but who knows? Personally, as soon as Southwest Airlines has posted their flights, I am booking my son Paul and I. Coming in on Wednesday night, so we have a full day on Thursday to visit venders, and maybe a junk yard or two.

I know it's early, but any thought about meeting for breakfast/lunch/dinner during the VW Classic? I remember some nice breakfasts before the Octo Show (Curse you Rick C for grabbing the T34 turn signal before I could!) Southwest will be posting their June flights next week, and I'm already starting to make plans!

There have been no plans made yet (or even considered) for the VW Classic 2012. I'd love to organize a social activity (breakfast, lunch, dinner) but don't want to step on any T34.org toes that may be developing by that crew.

Early breakfast before Octo would be good then, as the T34.org folks usually have dinner on Saturday night.

Southwest Airlines has posted their June 2012 flight schedule. On the good side, for those of us that have to work the Monday after the Classic there is a 6:00 pm flight to Chicago from John Wayne. The bad side is that ticket prices are way up from last year.
Yikes! Nothing is easy.

I think you're overestimating the organization of .org. If it's anything like this year, plans for the Registry dinner won't gel until a week or so before the show.  My own suggestion would be an inter-organizational event where all who are interested in the Type 34 are welcome. |

Not over estimating the group, it's just that somehow a dinner the last couple of years happens on Saturday night. I for one would welcome a combined dinner/breakfast/stroll in the park, but would be happy as well to attend two separate functions if a combined one can't be worked out.

Well, using most of the Southwest Airline points I had in the bank I have booked my son Paul and I to arrive at John Wayne on Wednesday night June 6th. Hoping to earn enough points later to pay for the trip back. Of course, if we got stuck in VW Heaven, it's not all bad, right?
