I know I'm in withdrawals....
Nearly two years, delivering quality issues all the way through. One of the little highlights of each month. I've been going back and reading and re-reading them all...and thinking about how little I contributed. I could have at least written an 'Owner's Tale' or two. Overall, it takes quite a bit to consistently generate something like that with all the distractions of life going on all around, so I'm happy to have the content we do have to refer back to. Re-reading everything reminds me of the like minded folks out there and I definitely am picking up details I missed during my initial readings.
If they continue and end up going bi-monthly or quarterly, it would probably be enough. I'm hoping for issue #24, for sure!

What a tease! I saw the subject, and clicked without even looking to see who started the thread!

I'd say lee has been pretty busy helping Allison getting her Beetle ready for paint.

In late-December my laptop hard drive died. I've been working with a computer guy to recover the data to get me back on track. All of my T34 material, emails, photos, stories, etc were on that laptop. So that is the reason why #24 was not published.
Two years have gone by publishing a monthly T34 World News magazine. I have decided to change the publication schedule to every other month (6 times per year). I work very hard to convince T34 owners to share their stories, photos, and information with me so I can build interesting stories each month. It has consumed more of my time than I'd like just to be able to meet the monthly quota of 34 pages. If owners would contribute then things might be easier, but of course owners want something for nothing so they sit back & wait for the next edition without contributing anything. Six editions per year should be more reasonable on my life yet still whet the appetite of T34 owners around the world.
Yes, I spent three days after Christmas helping my 13 year old daughter strip her "Ellie", a 1964 Beetle Sedan, in preparation for bodywork & paint. She's learning to use tools, source parts, and develop a plan for her first car restoration. But it had nothing to do with #24 being delayed.

Good news! The computer repair shop was able to recover my laptop files intact, nothing was lost. So now I can continue where I left off in December. Hope to have the #24 edition published by 01 Feb but I've only got a week to do it.

I can sympothise with you Lee, as my home computer decided to die right before Thanksgiving (the motherboard took a dump). I've been playing catch up, along with learning a new system (Windows 7 is a lot different from XP, and some stuff just doesn't interchange), and re-newing passwords and such. I look forward to whenever issue #24 comes out, and it doesn't bother me IF the magazine went bi-monthly, or even quarterly, as long as there's some sort of a heads up before hand. Lee, IF you want, you can pull anything you like out of my Samba build thread for the magazine. I know some of the members here are also members there, but some are not, and might be interested in what I did in certain areas. The car does have a wide 5 disc conversion up front, which might be interesting to some. I don't remember IF i posted any pics of it here though. Greg, I do agree with you about going back thru the "back issues", as you do catch things you might have missed the first time thru.
