hello , i'm thinking about to repop the oval rubber in the nose , i made a copy from the oval hole from a nos front apron . the hole is the same size than the plate . so the plate must be before or behind the hole . or ? is there any interest on this rubber ? pics from untouched t 34 would be helpfull. cheers jens Attachments:

On mid-1965 through 1969 T34s this metal horn hole cover plate was fitted in the rubber seal (to keep dirt & water from entering the hole) and then the seal/plate was installed into the opening.
Earlier T34s in 1962 to early-1965 had the dual horns mounted inside this hole and the hole remained open. The inner horn rubber boot had a lip that went over the edges of the hole to keep the boot in-place.
Can you reproduce this 1965-69 seal?

What should the horn/seal setup look like for 61-65 cars?

'61 - '64 Type 34 horn setup is exactly the same as the Type 14, including the horn boot. For '65 and later, the horns moved out to the front bumper brackets.
The horn harness is different for each setup.

Just to explain - KGOC GB as a club operates this way so we do not have to pay/charge tax on spares - for the benefit of members only. If we operate outside the members only rule, we would have to pay tax since we would be regarded as a business - both a complication and an expense we do not want! If you do not wish to join us (you would be most welcome) have a word with Carsten who may be able to help.
Re the nose rubber I have used a repro oval window beetle rear window seal trimmed to length, with the join at the bottom and the panel pressed in from the back. From the outside it looks very like the original - you can only see the increased rubber thickness from the inside. If you were to get a batch made then I am sure the club would be interested in buying a number to offer to members - this might help if you need to have a minimum number made.

Mark Same issues with tax man here in Finland (FVWA being the club, Volkswagen Association of Finland), so everything is sold only to members. FVWA is now a tax exempt association, but selling stuff freely would mean we'd have to pay tax for all sales, not just external sales. 24% VAT to everything and mandatory bookkeeping for every sale, increasing the cost even further.
