I discovered I'm missing this little deflector piece that goes under the oil cooler

Hi, I know this kind of tin piece, but I´m not a 100% sure what it is for. A couple weeks ago I dismantled an org. 1968 T34 engine - it did not have a tin piece leike that ... Best regards from berlin

The purpose is to keep air from escaping past the oil cooler through the gap in the tin.

Sounds right - but why was it missing in the 1968 engine...? Anyway, do You need one of those? Best regards from Berlin.
