I'm after an early 90 MPH speedo if anyone has one? I do have a nice (restored) 100 MPH one, but my car should have the 90. I could offer a swap/px if anyone is interested, or sell mine once I have got the correct one, if anyones after a 100. Pics will follow tomorrow.
Thanks all.

Heres a pic of my speedo... It obviously needs refreshing again, but it is in nice condition. Now something interesting I have spotted about this speedo... It is dated 3.64 in blue, but under that date it is dated 6.62! The part number 341957023 has an A printed in the same style as the 3.64 date. My theory is that the speedo is original to the car, but then broke, and was remanufactured by VW? Does that sound feasible? If so I may keep it for my car, even if it is a 100 mph one....

It's a nice speedometer and I think you should keep it for all the reasons you have given. If it's ever restored, the blue marks will go away when the backside is replated--if you go that far with it. You can find the correct guts for the early speedometer and have them installed into that housing. Lots of options.
I do have a NOS early speedometer. It has the correct rubber gasket and mounting hardware, so it's really complete. The date stamp is 10/63, so it isn't anywhere near 'date correct' for your car, but it looks right.
It won't be inexpensive...because I didn't come by it inexpensively. I'll PM you about it.
