This year my fog lights stopped working. There was power to the relay, but the relay didn’t work. Checking the wiring diagram I realized the relay was grounded through the attachment lug. Pulling out the relay and checking it with a volt ohm meter there was no continuity between the aluminum case and the steel attachment lug. After 48 years it seems galvanic corrosion had set up between the case and the lug. We recently moved and I couldn’t find my aircraft rivets and riveting tools, so I decided not to drill out the rivet. Perhaps when I find my riveting tools I’ll drill out the old one and re-rivet the attachment lugs. Since original relays were nowhere to be found I decided to see if I could come up with a replacement. Sure enough, Hella makes one that is available through Summit Racing. The Hella number was H41510171, but was renumbered as 933332151, the Summit number is: HLA-933332151 @ $ 5.97 plus shipping. The only difference, besides a plastic case, is there’s an extra terminal, 85, that is the grounding terminal. I simply attached a wire and a couple of connectors to it and grounded the unit in the original attachment hole with a small bolt. That was the toughest tasks, getting the nut on the bolt. The new relay works like a charm. Attachments:
