In the Summer of 1973 my Ghia’s 6mm reservoir brake lines were replaced with 8mm lines. I experienced a master cylinder failure, so my VW trained mechanic knew there was a workshop bulletin about replacing the 6mm lines with 8mm lines. My task was to go find the replacement kit. I found a couple of partial kits in Philadelphia that made up what I thought was a whole kit. With the parts I found my mechanic made the conversion.
Forty some years later I now realize the kit may not have been complete as the spare tire hits the reservoir lines and causes brake fluid to leak out.
Does anyone have a copy of the Workshop Bulletin with list of what parts should be included in the repair kit 311-698-995? I couldn’t find a reference in my Type III parts manual. In addition, could someone share a photo of the routing of the original 6mm brake lines from the reservoir?
