Tell us a little about you, Neil. How old, what VWs have you owned before & currently, why you wanted a T34, your decision to buy this 1964, what your plans for it are, etc?

Hi Lee and all!
I am 44 years old and live in Ashford, Kent, South East England. I'm married with 2 girls, 5 and 19months.
I have my own business providing project management and quantity surveying services mainly to clients who require procurement of their projects.
My first car when I was 19 was a 1965 VW Beetle 1300. Ever since owning that car I have wanted a Porsche 356a. I have nearly bought one on 2 occasions and have regretted not doing so and still had that urge to own an old VW again, something a bit different with history and 50's or up to middle 60s.
I started looking for a Karmann Ghia Low Lights and came across a RHD Japanese T34. My friend then pointed me in the direction of CPP 626B and I put a deposit on it without seeing it and actually really knowing what it was! I'd never seen one or known of them before! My plan is to keep the car standard and cherish it. I have bought a carcoon for it to go in my garage and I have filed the extensive history in plastic sleeves in a lever arch file as this was all given to me loose when I bought the car. I also own a 1979 Triumph Spitfire 1500 which was my mums car since 1981. I hope to see other owners and their cars. Mine will be used but like my Spitfire won't be allowed to get wet and won't get out that much due to my family commitments but the T34 might be a little better as at least it has some rear seats!!
Best wishes Neil Camp MRICS
