Hello, I have acquired an 1964 T34 from my granddad that has been in storage since I could remember as a child. So far the T34 community has been great and from what I can tell everyone here is very friendly.
My plan for the car is to keep everything mostly original, but not interested in doing a 100% correct restore. For now i plan to get the body done and the car back on the road before considering updating anything like the brakes to disks or perhaps lowering the front end a bit.
I've currently completed the tear down stage and have begun the body work. Unfortunately after getting the car down to bare metal I have discovered many unexpected damage panels that will require sourcing of replacements or building them myself.
I'm excited to finally get moving on building my car back up. If anyone has suggesting on where I can find a donor car or replacement panels let me know.

I basically 'refurbished' my 1965 like you did, get the body work done, get the motor cleaned up and running, and make it look nice with as many original parts as possible, without breaking the bank. A lot of my parts were salvageable or in pretty decent shape, so that helped. Dont throw away ANYTHING. Some items that look like trash might be useable or someone could repair them.
Search for "Type 34" in theSamba classifieds, narrow to Washington state (since that is relatively close to you)- there are some T34 items listed. Joel Mitchell has alot of type 3 parts and some T34 items. He may be able to help with sheet metal. Otherwise elswhere parts come up for sale here and there. The T34World Facebook page has a lot of help, just ask for something, as well as the other two main Type 34 groups.
Lee Hedges and Carsten Klein are the guys to ask- Carsten has alot of parts for the car, so he is an awesome source. He also doesnt try to soak us with prices, I find he is pretty fair compared to other prices around.
Enjoy the journey!
