Also we have some T14's joining the convoy.
If anyone else is considering it please get in touch fast as the hotel accomodation we have reserved for club members is limited.
Perhaps we can meet up with others from Belgium and north France for the drive in. We are coming over on Thursday morning. Clive

Clive Good idea! There will be T34's from Belgium going to the event, and most likely we will drive in convoy. It would be great if we could arrange to meet up. Do you have any idea about the time schedule and the route you will take? Will you arrive in Calais?

I would like to meet up and caravan with you as well. I will be in Sint Niklaas, near Antwerp, right off the E17. Do you have a schedule for when the KGOC GB will be coming through that area?
Thanks, Tom

Hi all, Just a quick update on this topic. Not all the British T34's mentioned in the first post are travelling together, some are already leaving on Wednesday, others on Thursday. I've been in contact with Clive & Tom, and we have set up a meeting point in Belgium, where the T34 and T14 drivers who like to drive in convoy to Georgmarienshütte can join in. The route will take us trough the Netherlands, where we will be joined by some more T34's. This is the route: The idea is to meet about mid day in Lillo, a tiny little village (the only one remaining), situated in the middle of the industrial port of Antwerp, north of the city, and just of the motorway. We will take time to have a quick lunch there. Afterwards, around 2.00pm, we will continue our journey, and will meet up with the Dutch T34 Armada along the way. (meeting point still to be defined). For the moment it looks like we will have 10 cars in the convoy all together: - UK: 2x T34, 1x T14
- US: 1x T34
- B: 3x T34
- NL: 3x T34
If anyone wants to join in, you're welcome. The Belgian drivers can contact me for information. For the Netherlands, please contact T34 World rep. Remco de Bruijn.

For those who wonder how the cruise was, ...well we had some 'little' problems: Firstly Tom (Reay) & Terri were a bit disappointed because the T34 drive that was promised them was cancelled at the last moment. They joined us in the convoy, but with a rental car (a brand new Volkswagen Golf). Then we received a phonecall from Clive telling us that the ferry in Calais docked about one hour to late and one of their cars was not performing well. He told us we didn't have to wait for them... Near Eindhoven my GPS (or was it me...?) made a mess of it causing some delay already when we picked up the first two Dutch T34's And then the blue cars started having their issues: After having stopped for fuel, the starter engine of my T34 failed to work. As my car is an automatic, pushing was no option. Thankfully our service team made a quick intervention. A little tick with the hammer at the right spot and off we went. Thanks again Jurgen The second blue T34 that joined us just before the border of Germany had a more serious problem, an oil-leak. The engine was loosing power rapidly and we had to slow down to 80 km/h at some points. As a result of our problems we were alreday two hours behind schedule, causing the English to catch up with us in the end. So, for a short moment, we had our 9 car convoy...! A little later then expected, we all arrived in GeMaHu, after an adventourous and long day. The return journey on sunday afternoon went smooth, no problems at all and even Tom got to drive a T34 for a while...

good for Tom, that he was able to drive a T 34 while he was over to Europe and a shame that the promised car was cancelled in the very last second /////

Hi Guys - We are back home in California. What a nice holiday and awesome event!
Anyway, just want to let you know not driving Kris's car wasn't a terrible disappointment for us, I think it even worked out better. We did drive it from Sint Niklaas to North Antwerp, through the Kennedy Tunnel and on the Antwerpring in heavy traffic! That would be scary in any car, much less one we didn't know that much about. When we got back to Sint Niklaas after the event we drove it out in the Netherlands countryside above N34 for a much more pleasant drive.
We had a great time cruising to the show and back with the Belgium group. Also it worked out that we had a chance to ride in some of the nicest cars at the event - I rode back from the Karmann Museum in Jorg's sunroof coupe with Lee, did the cruise with Andy Holmes in his black 62, Terri got a ride with Theresa and Sophia Holmes in the green right hand drive coupe, plus I was able to ride in and DRIVE Paul Peter's 69 automatic! The extra bonus was being able to get to know and spend time with friends that we may have not been able to had we been driving.
I also established myself as a crazy driver by leading the British group back from the BBQ dinner on Saturday night to their hotel in Bad Iberg by driving down a sidewalk for a short period .
I will be posting some pictures soon.
Take care, Tom and Terri
